I have woundered who the captains were for the ships that travelled back and forth on the Enlightment trans-atlantic movent from Europe to the New World during the 1700 and 1800's. The movement was already in motion much earlier that my time line. Once again, Charles Cist was born in 1732 the same year as George Washington. I know that Cist came over in 1769 with Thomas Paine. Benjiman Franklin's brother-in-law Bache sponsord the ship. The owner of the ship was a Masonic lodge. Captain James Allyn was a captain during this time period. It took six weeks to travel from Europe to the New World. In a later generation, Captain E.E. Nutt (1837-1911) was a captain who sailed the ocean.
